In
June 2004, Alpha Project, started in the Oasis Bar, The Point in Milton Keynes. DJ Randall and Coolhand Flex were on the bill along with Flapjack, myself and Hallmarc who was a DJ in Northampton. There were 2 nights that I played at and then the night stopped. Drum & Bass' popularity had died down in Milton Keynes. Clubs weren't ready to give it a "wide berth". Through friends I met a man who was linked with a Russian indie/pop band called Blast!! He gave me an album of theirs and I did a remix of one of their tunes. He took it back to them and they loved it. They play in big clubs in Moscow mainly, although they have played alongside Blur and appeared in England. They play my remix every night, according to my mate. I have had recent contact and they have asked if I would do some remix's of their new album. There has been talk of me going to Russia to play in one of their biggest clubs, Club Propaganda in Red Square.

2005 is a whole different ball game. Alot more clubs are opening their doors to Drum & Bass. There are regular nights, Elevation, Accelerated Culture, Grime Time & Deadly Fusion. I have played at an Elevation and I have been made a resident. I'm going to play at Grime Time soon. I have played a few of my own tunes at Elevation in May this year. The crowd response was good and a couple of the DJ's asked if they could get a copy, which I took as an excellent compliment. In June I e-mailed Jem, the singer of the tune They. I explanied that I am doing New Deal for Musicians with the Job Centre and that I really enjoyed her version of the song and asked if it would be possible for me to do a remix. At the time Jem was out of the UK promoting herself in America, but someone from her office contacted me and said that I should e-mail her around July to explain what I wanted to do. In June I e-mailed Dogs on Acid, www.Dogsonacid.com, and sent them a tune. They are a distributor but they do other things too. They put it on their site and then other people can listen to it and post back comments and thoughts. In 3 weeks the tune got nearly 80 plays. It is still on there and still getting played.

In the
8 years that I have been mixing I have played out regularly and met lots of DJ's and producer's. Coolhand Flex has been a great help to me. He has given me pointer's with Cubase and mixing down my tunes and fine tuning them. I met Flex in 97 in Vibes record shop, Bletchley. This was run by Dj Alibi. Here I met other local DJ's and producers. Throughout all my DJing life I have played at free parties, which are held in allsorts of venues, DJ Exposure Nights which were run by Lynn and FB of Back2Back Promotions these were held in the Oasis Bar, The Point. Over the past year or so I have concentrated more on making tunes. I have a catalogue of 400 tunes that are either finished or halfway done. At the minute I have my own session mixing on internet radio on www.planetdnb.com I am on there every Monday from 4pm-6pm.
